One-way solidarity

One-way solidarity

One-way solidarity –I understood lately, it’s not for me. «Shut up and turn up – that’s the rule; Better follow suit, or you’re just a fool.» They’ll call when they want my face in the crowd, But there’s a gun at my head, in case I speak out loud. They want cogs in their social machine. What’s the payoff for me? That I’ve not seen. I’m of full-fledged person, within my own right. I don’t want to struggle, I don’t want to fight, But to be in the system that is right for me, I need two-way solidarity. What is synergy, we’d better learn; The group welcomes me, I contribute in turn. With love I support that on which I depend; To our mutual welfare, with care we attend.
